OUR VALUES

*

PETER JO is an independent, family-run business, and like you, we care deeply for our environment and community. We believe in conscious creation and strive to deliver collections that pioneer sustainability. Step by step and seam by seam, we are pushing the boundaries of what is possible to bring you thoughtful pieces that are equal parts beauty, heart and substance.

As we progress down this path to sustainability, we realise there is always more to learn, new ways to adapt and endless possibilities to evolve.

Join us on our journey and read about our values below.

Our materials:

Our focus is on natural fibres such as Organic Cotton, Linen, Bamboo, Organic Muslin Cotton and similar.

We're committed to sourcing the most eco-friendly materials. We handpick every single fabric based on its environmental footprint and lifetime durability.

Organic cotton is made sustainably and responsibly, so the planet feels just as good as you do while wearing it. Wear it, and love it because it’s…

*Natural
*Ultra-Comfortable
*Soft

Linen is the fibre that’s been there for you all along. Durable, resourceful, and gives more than it takes. It is breathable, highly absorbent and naturally insect repelling. Wear it, and love it because it’s…

*Durable
*Natural
*Breathable

Bamboo is a cellulosic fiber that is regenerated from bamboo plant. It has various micro-gaps, which make it softer than cotton and increase its moisture absorption. Elastic, environment-friendly, and biodegradable. Wear it, and love it because it’s…

*UV-resistant
*Hypoallergenic
*Natural

Organic muslin cotton as its name speaks for itself, is a fabric made from organic cotton. It differs from other cotton weaves because it has a much looser, more open weave and therefore is more lightweight and breathable. Wear it, and love it because it’s…

*Lightweight
*Soft-touch
*Breathable

Look great and feel cozy while minimizing your environmental impact.

Our manufacturing:

We work to minimise the negative impacts associated with manufacturing and to ensure that all people involved are treated fairly and respectfully along the way.

Our company as well as the manufacturing enterprise and our fabric suppliers are situated in Portugal and maintain a good working condition, create a healthy working atmosphere and provide accurate and honest information about the products and their services.

Our packaging:

we’re committed to use as less packaging materials as possible to show you our responsibility towards the environment. It does not look shiny and pretty, but it is conscious and eco-friendly.
We use a vegetable paper, paper stickers and cardboard boxes of a minimum size necessary to pack and keep the garment safe during transportation.

Carbon footprint:

The trace of the greenhouse gases produced by human activities are known as the carbon footprint.

As a sustainable brand and business, we are working hard to reduce our carbon footprint by recycling, reusing, or selling wastage fabrics to reduce the amount of scrap fabric going to landfill.
We produce only a reduced quantity of stock for our partner shops and for our direct customers. We make sure, that our stock garments don’t go to the landfill, therefore everything we cannot sell (including the production samples or prototypes) is either sold to local textile entrepreneurs or donated to local schools.

We work with the trusted, certified factory and suppliers, which have the same sustainable vision as us - and follow it through by continuously reducing their environmental footprint.

We have recently partnered with a company CarbonClick (https://www.carbonclick.com/about/) , which gives us an opportunity to let our customer to reduce their personal carbon footprint, while buying with us. Now our customers are able to opt-in to pay a little extra to support fight climate change while checking out their purchases. The donations collected by this feature are forwarded to the projects aimed to fight climate changes, reduce pollution and restore nature.

We believe that big change starts small. Small as in bringing your reusable tote to the grocery store, making fewer, more thoughtful purchases, and choosing to purchase sustainably when you do. These small choices add up and we’re here to celebrate each and every one of them.
